The purchase of an existing golf facility is a complex transaction and the entire process can be fraught with many potential landmines along the way.
ClubGains consultants will answer your most important questions:
- Why is the club really for sale? Are there other factors not readily apparent to potential buyers?
- How will new ownership be viewed by existing members, as well as, within the overall market? Will the new owners be seen as "white knights" with the best interests of the club in mind, or simply profit-seekers looking for their next deal?
- How can the club be modified and/or repositioned to be more profitable under new ownership?
- How will repositioning the club affect existing members and golfers? Will they be driven away? What are their most likely options?
- What niche opportunities are available in the market that can be attacked? Where will new members or players come from?
- Where does the newly repositioned club fit into the overall marketplace and how are competing clubs likely to react in response to the changes?
These are questions that must be answered BEFORE proceeding with a purchase, because they
all affect the potential value and purchase price of a club. The answers to many of these
same questions will need to be addressed in the Marketing Plan as new owners proceed with
the acquisition and put their best foot forward into the market.
